What is Bartme?
Bartme is a 100% free online exchange system. You can find a home for your unwanted items, and find new items from others.
How do I get bart points?
When you signup for Bartme you get 100 Bart points. To get more bart points you have to list items and collect points from other users.
How do I list items?
To list items just click the "List Items" button at the top of the page. You will need to create a free account. You can list as many items as you want, and post a picture for each item.
How do people get my listed items?
After you have listed an item other users can enter a bid for your item. You can select any bid you want. You not reequired to pick the highest, and you can wait as long as you want for more bids to come in.
How do I accept a bid?
To accept a bid simply login and view your items details, there will be an "Accept" button next to each bid. When you click accept you can send a message to the users telling them that you have accept their bid, and also how they can contact you to setup a time to pickup the item.
How do users pick up an item after winning the bidding?
No money exchanges hands at bartme.com, so their is no shipping, as this costs money. Items should be picked up by the winning bidder in person. This is why you should only accept bids from users who live in your local area.
Can I buy bart points, or exchange bart points for cash?
No, bartme is designed as a community recycling barter system. You should not expect to earn any income from bartme. You should only list items which you no longer want. Bart points are only there so that you know you can some day have the favor returned to you when you want to bid on someone else's item.
Is my information kept private?
Yes, your name, address or email will never be given out or sold. The only time that you email is shared with another user is if you accept their bid and opt to send them your email for contact purposes.
